Reflection

I had been bad at using computer, and I had never used Power Point. However, I was able to get an ability of using it as I used it in this class. Moreover, I was able to learn about various things by researching in order to make a slides. For example, a World Hesitate site and a national holiday and so on. Thanks to this class, my pronunciation became better, and I had a delightful time.

PUT: An Aim Of The PUT Program

I’ll introduce about an aim of the PUT Program.
First, PUT is introduced a system of a small number of people. So, it removes a fear of foreign language. By studying in small group, our ability of speaking positively is improved.　Then, we can practice expressing opinions and maintaining conversations for a variety of situations.

Second, there are teachers from wide variety of English countries. We can contact with English closely. An accent and pronunciation become naturally. Students can learn about a range of different cultures.

Third, in PUT we discuss about worldwide news and culture. Our skill of speaking and writing, reading and listening get better. Even more, we can acquire an ability of thinking, expressing and understanding. We cultivate a cosmopolitan and communication, and acquire a wide field of vision and a way of thinking.
Thus, students are improved their ability by PUT.

Manners

I’ll introduce about Kimono and clothes manners. There are various kinds of kimono. We have to choose it to adapt Time, Place and Occasion.

First, a kimono divides full dress, semiformal dress and everyday clothes. I’ll talk about a full dress. A full dress is Shiromuku, Tomesode and Hurisode. Shiromuku is an all white dress. It is worn in a marriage. In Japan, either shiromuku or wedding dress is worn by a bride. Both shiromuku and wedding dress are white color, so an invited guest must not wear a white. And then, Tomesode is worn by a married woman, and Hurisode is usually worn by an unmarried woman. They are worn in a formal place, but 　they are not suitable as everyday clothes.

Besides, in summer, people wear a yukata. When they go a summer festival, many people wear it. It is most familiar with us in many kimonos. Even more, mourning clothes are worn in a funeral. In America, it seems that color of a mourning clothes is not decided, but in Japan, it is usually black, so you must not wear a bright color clothes in Japanese funeral.

Kimono is seemed to look like same, but there are a little differences of design. Let’s wear it in correct occasion.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

I’ll introduce about Thanksgiving Day Parade.
On Thanksgiving Day, the parade is famous. Originally known as Macy’s Christmas Parade, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was started by Macy's Employees and professional entertainers in 1924 in Detroit down to Woodward Avenue. Macy is an American department store. The company produces the parade.

The parade began on a very small scale, but it became popular from year to year. And finally it became an annual event. In the parade, large balloons and TV personalities, and high school marching bands move. The large balloons are shaped into cartoon characters. Even more the parade collaborates with Walt Disney Company and a balloon of Mickey Mouse was made. The 3 hour parade comes to an end with Santa Claus's float. And after the day, the city is decorated with Christmas illuminations.

Palace of Potsdam

I’ll talk about the history of Palace of Potsdam.
In Potsdam and Berlin, many palaces and parks have been kept since 18th or 19th century, and in 1990, they were recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

Charlottenburg Palace today is the largest and the most important residence of the Hohenzollern in Berlin. They were originally built as a summer detached palace of a queen of Prussia Sophie Charlotte.

Sans Souci palace was built by order of the second Frederick from 1945 to 1947. And after the Seven Years’ War, near it the palace like the Palace of Versailles was built. It is called New Palace. It is built in rococo style.

Fujikyu Highland

I will introduce about The History of Fujikyu.
Have you ever been to Fujikyu? It is in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Predecessor of Fujikyu is Fujigoko International skate center opened in 1961. In 1964 it was renamed Fujikyu Highland. The theme park is near the base of Mount Fuji. It has a number of roller coasters, because it is said a president of Fuji Kyuko Corporation likes a scream machine. Even more in winter, skating rink is opened on a global scale. Fujikyu is used as a location of a dramas, movies and variety shows.

A large-sized roller coaster is built every five years after 1996 to break a Guinness world record.It is achieved a total of 8 attractions and 13 categories of a Guinness record by 2006. Thank you.
